Boston entrepreneurs Ben Rubin and Derek Haswell banded together back in 2013 for Revv, a startup dedicated to empowering people to reinvent themselves by leveraging behavioral science.
Since then, however, the duo has been iterating upon a new idea within a similar vein of productive and positive living: Change Collective, a course platform with a mission "to give people the tools to succeed with change." And as of Wednesday, Rubin and Haswell have raised $1.4 million in seed funding to help them do just that.
While Rubin told the Boston Globe they are currently working on building some native apps, Change Collective will for now take the form of a mobile website. The platform will offer courses, comprised of a mix of text messages, Web content and videos, all with the aim of giving users their daily dose of inspiration straight from lifestyle gurus and experts, like Ari Meisel of "The Art of Less Doing," JB Glossinger of "Becoming an Early Riser" and Chris Kresser of "Your Personal Paleo Code" — not to mention Boston's own Nataly Kogan, the founder of Happier.
The startup's $1.4 million raise comes from local venture firms Founder Collective and NextView Ventures, along with New York-based Eniac Ventures. What's more, the company will join Techstars Boston's new class, which will be announced on Wednesday.
