Your High-Fives Just Got 'Consistently Awesome' with This Handheld Confetti Cartridge

Cupped palm perfectly meets cupped palm to produce the satisfying thunderclap now echoing melodically throughout the tired cubicles of your office. You know a good high-five when you hear one, and that sweaty slap is a sure cure to your co-worker's case of the Mondays.

Just imagine multiplying that enthusiasm by fireworks, however.

"One of the most common forms of celebration known to mankind" is receiving an upgrade, thanks to Chase Bourdelaise, Paul Wagner and Diego Punin, who currently high-five in Boston, New York City and London, respectively. The trio has set out to make the celebratory contact "consistently awesome" by adding a touch of colored confetti.

Forget the traditional high-five. Now, there is the Fiesta-Five.

"It's high-fives on steroids," writes the team on their Dragon Innovation page.

The Fiesta-Five lets users blast confetti from their hands whenever they high-five. And not just any confetti, but biodegradable confetti, meaning water will wash away the mess in 30 seconds or less, making cleanup easy on the gregarious greeter and the environment.

Considering the first prototype was made from a dog squeaker toy and plastic tubing, the group has come a long way. Yet, they are now seeking $56,000 to make the Fiesta-Five a manufacturable reality.

Funding for the re-loadable patent-pending party favor will cover the cost of tooling for injection molds — a process that will more seamlessly allow for efficient mass production. The team is also looking to finance the initial minimum order of the Fiesta-Five.

The product is currently being produced in red, white and blue, yet customization is the overall goal, so users can better show their team spirit at sporting events or take a personalized approach to parties.

"Why throw rice when you can blast confetti?" asks the trio, referring to weddings. The three see the Fiesta-Five being used to commemorate vows, celebrate birthdays, as well as bring a more festive fun to the holidays.

The handheld tool is now in the hands of backers, however. To see how the Fiesta-Five works, watch the team's promotional video below. And if you want to bring your high-fives to the next level, donate here to receive a prototype.
