Shareaholic Leverages Pinterest To Make Content Even More 'Shareable'

Boston-based content discovery and sharing startup Shareaholic announced Tuesday that it will introduce a Pinterest-friendly feature to all Shareaholic enabled webpages, dubbed "Shareable Images." The company has clearly named the new addition quite literally – Shareable Images is intended to help publishers and their audiences pass around graphics simply and quickly, all with the push of the button.

In less than 30 seconds, one can make his or her site compatible with Shareable Images. When a visitor views that page, all he or she must do is hover over a picture or infographic for a moment before a "pinning" option appears, thereby smoothing out the publishing process. With a mere click of a mouse, the image is then put into Pinterest pin form and ready to be put in front of a visitor's individual social audience.

The result? Ultra-sharable content, at no additional cost to the site owner.

While this is admittedly not a groundbreaking feature, Pinterest's growing importance as a source of referral traffic for webpages makes Shareable Images a notable tweak for Shareaholic. Just last month, Pinterest topped the traffic stats of Facebook, Twitter and Reddit combined. The addition, though small, holds potentially tremendous value for Shareaholic site owners, as well as the company as a whole.

The new offering will be available to Shareaholic's network of 200,000 publishers, who reach more than 250 million people on a monthly basis, according to a company statement. Find out more about Shareable Images in the startup's announcement.
