Welcoming #TechTuesdays: The New Weekly Networking Event Hitting Downtown Crossing 10/29

Palo Alto has Coupa Cafe. New York has La Colombe. Kendall Square has Voltage Coffee. And starting next Tuesday, Downtown Crossing will be able to call Kingston Station its meeting-of-minds destination.

At last, the Downtown Boston tech community's chirps for a collaborative spot on this side of the Charles have been heard, and by none other than one of its own. Local business marketing startup Privy is taking the initiative to unite the startup ecosystem through weekly meetups, which its team is dubbing "#TechTuesdays."

Kingston Station, located at 25 Kingston Street only a few paces from the Downtown Crossing stop, will serve as the go-to spot every Tuesday at 5 p.m., starting October 29th. Privy cofounder and CEO Ben Jabbawy announced the networking event on October 18th on his personal blog, stating that "the idea behind #TechTuesdays at Kingston Station is that everyone from Privy to LogMeIn should have a recurring, weekly destination where they can mingle and meet others over beers and apps."

As the event website details, "This is a gathering for founders, startup teams, investors, techies and any other nerds who want to mingle." Jabbawy called out forty tech companies and startups in the neighborhood that he hopes will become regulars at the Old World-themed bistro, but all are welcome.

Given that Downtown Crossing is also on the Red Line, it wouldn't be all too surprising if Cambridge's techies found their way to Kingston for the happy hour.
