Over the past three days, marketers and technology experts from Boston and beyond have ventured to MITX's FutureM at the Hynes Convention Center to tap into the latest in marketing innovation. But yesterday, MITX, along with the 4A's Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies (IAAS), invited four Beantown-based startups–uTurn Audio, 3Derm, Cloze and Perfect Fuel Chocolate–up on stage to give their best pitches, all for the opportunity to win not one, but multiple free customized marketing campaigns with creative from the city's best up-and-comers in the field.
Digitas, Arnold Worldwide, Mullen, Hill Holliday and Allen & Gerritsen teamed up this fall to host Boston Future 4, a local twist on the IAAS program that typically partners with big brands to give priceless real world experience to rising advertising stars. Rather than pairing up with a well-known name like Converse, however, the city's four leading ad companies decided to incorporate one of the sectors Boston does best: innovation. Startups within the greater Boston area were invited to apply to present in front of last night's panel of judges, with the chance to take the coveted guinea pig spot for the creative tycoons participating in IAAS's 2014 course.
Once the winner was announced, all of the startups and the crowd headed over to Lir to pop bottles and celebrate.
