The $3.7M Reason Why Your Company Should Be Prepping for the Super Bowl Right Now

Why should your company be thinking about the Super Bowl in August? (And no, I'm not talking about the Patriots' eighth bid for the bowl, and yes, I had to look that up.)

Intuit, the company known for its personal finance software Quicken and Turbo Tax, plans to highlight one small business (startups included!) in a 30-second TV spot during the third-quarter of the big game, which is scheduled for February 2nd.

Here's what you have to do to put your company in the running:

  • Visit Intuit Small Business Big Game site and share your company's story in 600 words or less. Play up your startup's killer culture and awesome products and have some fun with it!
  • Spread the word by sharing it over social media to get as many fans, family members and friends to vote for you–the number of votes determine what businesses advance to the next round.
  • THAT'S IT.

The week of September 23rd, the business with the most votes from the public will get word that they have advanced to the next round.

Then, on October 28th, Intuit employees will narrow down the competition to a final four, which be announced on November 11th. On December 1st, a winner wil be chosen. Touchdown.

Thirty-second spots are going for $3.7 million this year, according to Advertising Age, and will reach over a million viewers.

Now all that's left to do is huddle up and make a play already!
