Why Your Startup Should Be Using Doodle

I have interviewed entrepreneurs that were traveling on planes, trains, and automobiles--literally. While I am very appreciative of the one-on-one time they schedule with me to chat during their travels, it's not always that easy with a group of people. This is where Doodle can help.

Whether it's creating a poll, inviting a group of participants to an event, or simply confirming the best time and date for a group, Doodle is a great tool for on-the-go companies to make sure everyone is on the same page. The diverse functionality of Doodle makes it a unique collaboration tool. The polling feature, especially, can turn drawn-out conversations into quick actionable decisions that will save your company time.

Here are a few of the reasons why we think Doodle is right for your company.

It's Free: The basic service of Doodle is free, music to a lot of bootstrapped entrepreneurs' ears. However, users have the option to upgrade to a premium account for $479 dollars a year, which you can test with a 30-day free trial. In the premium account, teams will have access to ads-free Doodling, more efficiency features (to help plan your meetings better), mobile support, calendar connect, unlimited transactions, and a company URL. If you don't mind some ads and the basic service fits your company's needs, it acts as a great free planning tool.

It's Mobile: Download the iPhone app ($2.99) or the Android app and have access to Doodle whenever, wherever. This way, time-sensitive issues can be addressed on the fly with just your smartphone. User also have access to the Mobile Doodle website or when they are within the app, can sync their MyDoodle account so that it has a consistent display with the web dashboard.

It's Convenient: Not everyone will use the same type of calendar but Doodle will help you sync different service such as Google Calendar, Outlook, Exchange, Lotus, iCal, Live, Yahoo, and more. The synchronization of these calendars as usually as simple as a drag and drop. Some require the installation of a plugin (Outlook) while others, like Google Calendar, is a simple click.

It's Efficient: The service is extremely customizable in ways that address different types of events. You can schedule something over a range of hours in a day, over a few days, or over a few months. Doodle does all the work for you, finding the optimal time for everyone's convenience. They even include a 'yes if need be' option.

For such a simple concept, Doodle makes a world of difference with a lot less headache and time when scheduling common meeting times.
