Newton-based Manifold is launching a new AI-powered research and data management program. With a $15 million Series A round, the company says its new technology will speed up healthcare research by eliminating workflow slowdowns.
Manifold’s mission is to use artificial intelligence to help healthcare researchers be more efficient and impactful.
“Our vision is to make it ten times faster and one-tenth the cost to conduct modern research studies that unlock insights never-before possible,” said Manifold CEO and cofounder Vinay Seth Mohta in a statement.
According to Manifold’s website, the system can draw insights from single-patient data. It is a complement to the traditional clinical trial model.
The Manifold system allows users to collect and analyze patient data rapidly, according to a news release from the company.
In preliminary use cases, teams from the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University have used the platform. According to Manifold, one of the current user-hospitals used the technology to unify 1.5 million patients’ data.
The platform can be used for patient enrollment, longitudinal data analysis, and secure collaboration across organizations, according to Manifold.
It was cofounded in 2016 by three MIT grads and a Northern Illinois University alum.
The Series A round was led by TQ Ventures.
