After leading the company he founded for more than two decades, Andrew Robbins is stepping down as chief executive of Paytronix.

Robbins founded Paytronix in 2001. The company provides customer engagement software and loyalty programs for restaurants, retail chains and convenience stores. Robbins will stay with Paytronix in the newly created role of executive chairman and advise on strategic initiatives, customer and partner relationships and product strategy.

The new CEO of the Newton-based company is Jeff Hindman, a Paytronix board member and former chief revenue officer at Snap One.

Paytronix said this leadership transition would “help position Paytronix to accelerate its growth and expand the footprint of its digital guest engagement platform.”

“Jeff’s appointment represents a huge milestone for Paytronix. He comes on board as we focus on expanding our industry-leading guest engagement platform into new markets and geographies,” Robbins said in a statement. “Going forward, I’m excited to work on broadening our solution set to incorporate even more advanced tools and technologies, which is a game changer for our clients as they look to differentiate and improve guest engagement.”

Hindman said the company is also launching new technologies into the market, including AI tools to help customers personalize offers to their guests in real time. Other advancements include “meaningful infrastructure and security enhancements, and key global partnerships that extend our ability to serve this dynamic and ever-evolving industry,” Hindman said.

New executive team

In addition to new offerings, Paytronix has also been refreshing its senior leadership. In the last few years, the company has brought on Andrea Mulligan as chief customer officer, Charles Gray as chief revenue officer and Pamela Robertson as chief marketing officer.

Hindman, the latest addition to the leadership team, first joined Paytronix’s board in 2022. In his prior role at Snap One, Paytronix said Hindman was part of the team that led the company through its initial public offering in 2021. Before Snap One, Hindman was VP and general manager of the Hospitality Small and Medium Business division of NCR Corp.

“As a member of the Paytronix board, Jeff has already had the opportunity to get to know the company, its markets and its customers,” Nick Cayer, a member of the Paytronix board and managing director of Great Hill Partners, said in a statement. “His rich background in sales, visionary leadership and deep understanding of the industry make him the ideal catalyst to lead the company into the next phase of growth in a dynamic marketplace.”
