Machine Learning Application at CSAIL Conference: MachineLearningApplications@CSAIL is a research initiative with a small consortium of industry members interested in leveraging ML to solve challenges and lead development and deployment of ML technologies. Sessions at the conference will cover topics like responsible ML, industry applications and efficient ML. In-person tickets are $250. The all-day event is at the MIT Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

Monday, December 5

Healthcare Financing - IPO, Venture, Private Equity, and M&A Outlook: This event is hosted by Foley Hoag LLP and will feature keynote speaker Jeffrey Barlow, president of Canaccord Genuity LLC, and discussions on the latest financing trends and predictions for 2023. Tickets are $40 and the event starts at 8 a.m.

Tuesday, December 6

Offshore Wind Tech Week Network Reception: This event will close out the 2022 National Offshore Wind R&D Symposium and kick off the the International Offshore Wind Technical Conference at Northeastern University. All offshore wind industry professionals are welcome to attend, regardless of whether they are attending the symposium or conference. The reception is free to attend and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Wednesday, December 7

BBJ’s Women Who Mean Business Awards Luncheon: Meet this year’s honorees, who are made up of outstanding women in the Boston business community. These women represent the scale of business in Greater Boston and have demonstrated significant growth in their companies. Tickets are $150 and the event starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

Thursday, December 8

BVS' Holiday Community and Vendor Expo Event: All the biotech tenants at 100-700 Technology Square and other companies in the Cambridge vicinity will be invited to attend this event. The event is billed as a place for scientists and science vendors to network. Life science job-related employees will attend the event at The Atrium for free.

Thursday, December 8

MassChallenge Boston Brews: Meet with Boston startups, MC alumni, experts, and partners in this casual networking event. Harpoon beers will be provided. The event is held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the MassChallenge Boston Fan Pier.

Friday, December 9

How the Defense Department is Shaping the Future of Advanced Manufacturing: The Manufacturing@MIT Working Group will host this event featuring Heidi Shyu, Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, at the Department of Defense. Registration is free but required. 

Tuesday, December 13

Boston Bitcoin Meetup: Go for drinks, apps and casual Bitcoin discussion the second Tuesday of every month. Be on the lookout for shirts and hats from various Bitcoin companies. December’s meetup starts at 7 p.m. at Beantown Pub.

Thursday, December 15

BBJ’s Race, Equity & Business: This event’s panel will continue the BBJ’s focus on the many issues that must be addressed to overcome racism, bias and prejudice in business and in our communities and look at actions we can take to make real change. Tickets are $100 and the event starts at 3 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton.
