Photos: 50 startups feted in Boston. Here's who attended.

For its first in-person event since before the Covid-19 pandemic, BostInno held its annual Fire Awards last night in downtown Boston, celebrating 50 innovators in Boston's startup community.

More than 150 attendees gathered at the W Boston Hotel on Stuart Street to celebrate the honorees from businesses, entrepreneurs and economic accelerator groups and to learn who the winners would be in each of nine categories, what BostInno calls its "Blazers."

The 50 startups, innovators and organizations were selected based on nominations and were chosen by a committee of judges from the Greater Boston innovation community. Criteria included recent successes in raising investment interest and funds, launching new products, bringing in new customers, growing their Boston footprint and supporting the local community and innovation ecosystem. The Inno Fire honorees and Blazer companies are profiled here.

Boston Business Journal and BostInno Executive Editor Doug Banks opened the evening, and BostInno Reporter Hannah Green presented the awards.

The event was sponsored by the W Hotel/Westin Copley Place and by Cambridge Trust. Chris Roy, director of innovation banking for Cambridge Trust, also spoke at the event.

The chosen Inno Blazers in each category were:

  • Cleantech: SES
  • Consumer Goods: MetaLenz
  • Ecosystem Supporters: Harvard Innovation Labs
  • Fintech: Insurify
  • Life Sciences: PepGen
  • Medtech/Healthtech: IntelyCare
  • Robotics: Berkshire Grey
  • Software (Small): NewStore
  • Software (Large): Mirakl
