BVS' Summer Biotech Community Celebration at Tech Square: The event is being promoted as a biotech community event for scientists and science vendors to network in a relaxed evening venue. All the biotech tenants at 100-700 Technology Square and other companies in the Cambridge vicinity will be invited to attend this event. The event will be a combination of vendor exhibits, food, beer & wine. This event is free for local life sciences employees to attend and will start at 4 p.m. in Technology Square. 

Thursday, August 4

Biotech Business in Boston: Join the BBJ for an afternoon of insights from leaders in the sector as well as the allied industries that are supporting the growth. Whether you work directly in this area, provide services, or just need to be connected to a key economic issue, this is one you won’t want to miss. Tickets are $150 and the event starts at 2 p.m. at the Seaport Hotel.

EnergyBar August 2022 — Summer Rooftop Networking: Entrepreneurs, investors, students, and friends of climatetech are invited to attend, meet colleagues, and expand the growing regional climatetech network. The networking will be held on Greentown Labs’ rooftop. This free event starts at 5:30 p.m.

Own Your Raise | Understanding Investor Term Sheets: This event features an in-depth discussion hosted by some of Boston’s most experienced attorneys. Through re-enactment of negotiations, attendees will understand how entrepreneurs and investors understand this process from their own perspectives. This free, virtual event starts at 1 p.m. Register to attend.

Northstar Campus SBIR Grant Pitch Day Competition: Eligible Massachusetts SBIR companies with dual-use aerospace and defense technologies are invited to participate in Northstar’s upcoming pitch day. Companies will be asked to fill out a brief application with details on their emerging technology, 50-50 match program requirement and the proposed use of grant funds. Northstar Campus management staff will identify 6 semifinalists and a panel of independent judges will choose the 3 winners on the pitch day. Applications are due August 4. Learn more.

Discovery Museum’s STEM + Movie Nights on the Lawn #3: “Hidden Figures:” Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and settle in for a fun, family movie. Before the movie starts, try a hands-on engineering activity inspired by the work of the trailblazing women of NASA, as you design and build a “landing pod” worthy of a moon landing. Then, enjoy a screening of “Hidden Figures” while you enjoy frozen treats available from VeeBop’s Ice Cream truck. The free event starts at 7 p.m. outdoors at the Discovery Museum. 

Saturday, August 13

Day Kamp Boston (All Day Founder Experience): This event is for early-stage founders or aspiring entrepreneurs. It will include a full day of education around early-stage startup education, presentations, investor panels, networking, happy hour, a VIP dinner and more. Tickets range in price from $150 to $300 and come with different perks. This event takes place from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. at WPI Seaport.

The Value of IP — Raising Capital with Patents As Collateral: The panelists at this event will discuss topics like IP-backed debt capital financing and its advantages, raising capital without a highly dilutive round, leveraging IP value to reduce cost of capital and more. This event will take place at the MIT Stata Center and starts at 5:30 p.m. It is free for eForum members and $40 for nonmembers. There is also a livestreaming option. Learn more.

She Rise, We Rise! Boston Empowerment Conference: Meet innovative doctors changing the cancer industry, famous podcasters and disability advocates from Los Angeles, motivational speakers from the Virgin Islands, entrepreneurs and authors that publish internationally, and women leading their communities through epidemics and pandemics. The full-day event starts at 9 a.m. at the Boston Marriott Quincy. Tickets range in price from $82 to $200.

Wednesday, August 24

Deep Dive Workshop — Financing for Startups + Small Business with HarborOne: Join Innovation Studio and HarborOne to learn what lenders look for when reviewing funding requests, and the importance of building a strong relationship with your financial institution. Attendees will also review the differences between the various financial products and how to use them appropriately, and get insights on how to increase your chances to secure funding. This free event starts at 2 p.m. at the Roxbury Innovation Center.

IRL Tech Mixer & Meet Up: This networking event is for startups, entrepreneurs, business owners, engineers, freelancers and more. It starts at 6 p.m. at Hibernian Hall in Roxbury. Get your tickets before August 5 for $20. After that, the price jumps to $30. Learn more.
