A Boston startup working on a platform that supports family caregivers has raised a $12.1 million early-stage investment round.

Former MassChallenge company ianacare launched its enterprise solution in March of last year, and is following up that success with a new venture capital investment led by New York's Greycroft.

With the new funding, ianacare aims to triple in size, building out its sales, marketing, client success and product teams.

Also joining the Series A investment round are 8VC, SemperVirensVC, Able Partners, and Brown Alumni Group, as well as follow-on investments  from existing investors Slow, Founder Collective, Indicator Ventures, Entree Capital, Cue Ball, Service Provider Capital, and AARP.

The company has partnerships with major healthcare providers, like Anthem, and is planning to launch at some of the country’s largest employers in 2022.

“There are so many activities built into the care plan that fall to family caregivers — like medication management, transportation to and from appointments, managing dietary needs, etc. Creating a true infrastructure of care in the home environment requires access, knowledge and guidance,” said Steven Lee, ianacare’s chief operating officer and co-founder in a statement.

“What we realized was that thousands of resources and services already exist, but they are highly fragmented and difficult to find. The power of technology allows us to bring large systems together, enable simpler connection and coordination, and deliver highly personalized experiences at scale,” Lee continued.

Ellie Wheeler, a partner at Greycroft, is joining the company’s board, praising ianacare’s “comprehensive” platform and passion powered by its founders’ personal experiences.
