Somerville-based software testing platform SmartBear has acquired Test Management for Jira (TM4J), a quality assurance and test management app in Jira for enterprise teams, from London-based Adaptavist. No financial terms were disclosed.
In a press release, SmartBear said it would dedicate new investment in innovation around TM4J’s support for behavior-driven development as well as integrate the app with some of its existing programs. TM4J helps users coordinate all testing activities including test planning, authoring, execution, tracking and reporting.
"TM4J rounds out our test management portfolio and offers a solution to our enterprise customers who seek a SaaS test management solution as an add-on inside Jira," senior product marketing manager Dana Prey wrote in a blog post about the acquisition.
TM4J is SmartBear's third acquisition in the last year. In August, SmartBear agreed to acquire Bitbar, a 10-year-old DevOps company based in Helsinki, Finland. And in June, the company acquired Cucumber Ltd., provider of open-source test automation framework “Cucumber.”
