For the first time since Techstars Boston launched in 2009, all 10 of the startups admitted to its latest program call Greater Boston home.
The accelerator, which announced the members of its 2020 class on Thursday, is a three-month program that gives startups access to mentors, resources and investor experience. Its 185 alumni include notable companies such as PillPack, the online pharmacy acquired by Amazon.com, and Own Up (previously RateGravity), a personalized mortgage lending advice service that raised its $8.5 million Series A round last year.
More than half of the class has at least one woman among its co-founders, said Clement Cazalot, managing director of Techstars Boston.
For the next three months, the 10 companies will work together and share the same office space at GSVlabs in Boston’s Downtown Crossing. On April 16, the startups are scheduled to pitch their business plans on stage at a demo day program, in a location still to be finalized.
Every company admitted to the accelerator is offered a $100,000 convertible note; Techstars contributes $20,000 and in return receives 6 percent common stock from each company, according to its site.
“Techstars is going to be unique to each company,” said Cazalot, who didn’t share how many applications Techstars received for this year’s Boston program.
Below are the 10 companies in Techstars Boston's latest cohort. Descriptions via Techstars.
