Bedrock Data Inc., a startup that helps businesses unify customer data across multiple channels, got acquired by Formstack, an Indianapolis-based company that sells workplace productivity software for streamlining business processes.
The companies did not disclose the financials of the deal.
Bedrock Data was born at HubSpot and launched in 2012 by four founders, three of whom were HubSpot alumni: John Marcus III, Ben Smith, Adrian Mott and Taylor Barstow. Marcus told BostInno in 2015 that the idea for the company stemmed from the difficulty to keep data in sync across numerous cloud applications, such as marketing automation, email, ticketing and CRM.
The acquisition will allow Formstack's customers access to 14 advanced integrations including Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle NetSuite, HubSpot and Marketo.
"With this acquisition, Bedrock and Formstack will be able to really define the workplace productivity category," said Bedrock Data CEO Taylor Barstow. "Formstack is already strong, Bedrock is going to make it only stronger."
Barstow noted that all of Bedrock's employees will stay in Boston and the company will start hiring for roles in engineering, customer success and sales.
"We're continuing the same product as bedrock data today," Barstow said. "There are no plans to change that - But in addition, we will be working together with Formstack on the go-forward vision."
Bedrock Data's last funding was a seed round of $3 million raised in 2015.
