The time before or between flights can be hectic and stressful or boring and everlasting. Either way, fueling up is essential and The Boston Public Market is on it. The indoor market is expanding to Logan Airport, its second location will be in Terminal C, and is expected to open in spring 2019.
This new 6,000 square foot space will serve a variety of fresh sandwiches, soups, and snacks. It will also feature a salad bar and several of the innovative food vendors currently serving customers at the BPM’s primary location at 100 Hanover Street. The local vendors at the new Logan location of the BPM will be set up in stall-style units surrounding a center hub that displays information about news, promotions, and other events happening at BPM.
“It’s a privilege to represent Boston’s thriving, innovative food industry of producers, artisans, and chefs at Logan Airport,” Cheryl Cronin, CEO of the Boston Public Market, said in a press release.
BPM has partnered with global food service company HMSHost and airport concessions developer MarketPlace Logan to make this new location a reality.
Around 30 million people travel through Logan every year, and even though terminal C does not connect with the most airlines, it should be a familiar sight to those that frequently fly with JetBlue, Alaska Airlines, or Emirates.
The Boston Public Market launched in 2015 as a year-round indoor market with the mission of bringing seasonal and local food to Boston’s downtown crowd. Everything sold at the market initially comes from somewhere in New England. This includes everything from seafood to ice cream and fresh produce. It is operated by the Boston Public Market Association, a nonprofit organization born from the collaboration between the city of Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
