Dubai, the city in the United Arab Emirates that is a 12-hour flight journey from Boston, will be the first home away from home for Babson College, the private institution ranked No. 1 for entrepreneurship by U.S. News and World Report.
In addition to existing hubs in Wellesley, Boston, San Francisco and Miami, Babson College will open its first international location in Dubai "to offer graduate and executive education programs for working professionals across the region," the school said on Tuesday.
Specifically, the Dubai campus will offer an MBA program (Babson MBA - Dubai), designed with a mix of online and in-person classes.
The program will be launched in January 2019 and will include exclusive courses on special topics such as family entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance, M&A for entrepreneurs.
"At Babson, we believe that the success of entrepreneurs is critical to economic growth and sustainability around the world," said Kerry Healey, Babson College president, said in a statement. "By bringing Babson’s recognized leadership in entrepreneurship education to Dubai, we will support the U.A.E.’s long-term economic development goals, make Entrepreneurial Thought and Action accessible to more people and places, and educate global leaders who will create great economic and social value everywhere."
