When it comes to the top tech brands to work for in Boston, what comes to mind?

For tech professionals surveyed by job search marketplace Hired, TripAdvisor is at the top of that list, followed by Bose, Akamai and HubSpot.

Hired's survey of top tech brands was done as part of its 2017 Global Brand Health Report, which looked at top brands in the U.S. and markets like Boston, San Francisco and Austin.

"More than 80% of Boston respondents said that they would want to work in a location outside Boston."

While the survey gives us an idea of which tech companies professionals hold in the highest regards, there was one alarming finding for Boston: those surveyed said they aren't tethered to Boston and would be willing to move elsewhere.

"More than 80% of Boston respondents said that they would want to work in a location outside Boston, citing locations such as Colorado," Hired wrote in its report. "This is substantially more than most other cities we surveyed, and might mean that Boston could see an exodus of experienced technology talent over the coming years."

Many of the respondents also said that the ability to work remotely was more important than working for any company in particular.

So now that you have that to worry about, here are the top 10 tech brands in Boston and the "brand positivity index" score they were each assigned:

  1. TripAdvisor (64)
  2. Bose (58)
  3. Akamai (55)
  4. HubSpot (48)
  5. athenahealth (42)
  6. Wayfair (41)
  7. MathWorks (40)
  8. Toast (39)
  9. EF Education First (36)
  10. CarGurus (34)
