Boston Startups and Tech Companies Hiring in September

Every month, BostInno publishes recap posts about startup funding, events, mergers & acquisitions, new hires and departures in the Boston tech ecosystem. Starting last month, we added a 'BostInno Approved' for companies that are hiring that had tremendous success.

For September, the big news in terms of tech companies hiring in the hub is about Facebook. The Boston Globe reported that the social media giant is planning to hire more than 500 employees for its new office in Cambridge, which will be opening next year. Facebook's Boston career page currently lists 20 open positions, 16 of them for software engineers, and we're sure there's more to come.

But Facebook is not the only company with openings. Here’s a curated list of who’s hiring in the Boston tech hub in September:

ACT.md

Located in the Fenway area, the digital health app making care coordination apps is looking to hire a software engineer and user engagement specialist.

Brightcove

Brightcove is on the hunt for a Technical Lead, a Senior Program Manager and a Web Developer. Also, the video platform company let BostInno know that it has a $1,500 external referral bonus “should you know anyone who might be good for Brightcove."

Carbon Black

Two engineers needed at the security company based in Waltham, MA: a site reliability engineer and a principal endpoint software engineer. Selected candidates can be based in Waltham, Boston or work remotely (see details in both job descriptions).

Crimson Hexagon

The social media analytics company that owes its name to a short story by Jorge Luis Borges currently lists three openings in Boston for visual designers (here and here are the full descriptions) and for a sales operation manager. Datadog

Datadog is disrupting cloud-scale monitoring and growing their sales team. Check out their available sales roles and go ahead and apply if you see something that catches your eye.

Doorbell

Doorbell is seeking a Community Operations Manager to join the real estate technology startup in Boston. A Community Ops Manager's responsibilities include organizing events for apartment residents and spearheading local partnerships with eateries, nonprofits, government organizations and more. Everbridge

For its Burlington location, the company is looking for three business development representatives, managers with different specializations and for a security engineer. The list goes on and on.

Genospace

Cambridge-based Genospace, which provides a software platform for genomic and biomedical data, is looking to fill several engineering roles (DevOps, software engineers, senior software engineers and interns). Internship applicants should be current undergraduate or graduate student. See here the list of available positions.

Hollister Staffing

This Boston-based agency connecting talented professionals with companies that help power their careers, has over 300 jobs listed on their website for roles within Technology, Accounting & Finance, and Administrative & HR fields. From Fortune 500 to start-ups in different industries.

Klaviyo

Engineers can find the right opportunity depending on their career level: Klaviyo is looking for a lead software engineer, a senior software engineer and a software engineer (with experience in HTML, JavaScript, LESS/SASS/CSS, Python and Django).

LevelUp

The mobile payment company, which headquarters at One Federal Street, is recruiting across every department, including sales, customer support and data services. Technical openings are for an Android developer, an iOS developer and a Ruby on Rails developer, among others.

PlacePass

The company has several opportunities available across the organization, including software engineering, customer acquisition, and analytics. All positions available in Cambridge are listed here.

Rapid7

For its global HQ in Boston, the provider of security data and analytics solutions lists 30 openings across a variety of departments, including sales, customer onboarding, service desk and business development.

Samsung Pay

The company's Burlington, MA office has 20 openings in a variety of departments, including business development, marketing, sales and technical operations.

Starry

As we wrote in a recent list of consumer tech startup to watch, Internet company Starry has a much bigger presence at its engineering office in Boston than in its New York office. Not surprisingly, the company has a long list of technical roles available in Boston, including engineers with expertise in Android and Javascript. The full list of openings is available here.

Turbonomic

The enterprise cloud company said it currently has over 50 open positions. In Boston, opportunities range from sales to digital marketing. Browse all the openings here.

Wayfair

E-commerce company Wayfair is hiring top tech talent to join its Boston headquarters across engineering, analytics, talent acquisition, product management positions and more, including Site Reliability Engineers, Cloud Reliability Engineers and Big Data Infrastructure Engineers. The company was named a top place to work last year by the Boston Globe and Boston Business Journal. Browse Wayfair's open positions here.

ZappRx

The digital health company, which is trying to simplify the specialty drugs prescribing process, has a few openings for a product manager, a senior product manager, a specialty account manager and an assistant director. Last month, the company hired Libby Curtis Webb from Copatient as SVP of product.
