UberEATS, the food-ordering app that relies on the Uber delivery network, will launch in Boston on Thursday, April 27. Boston customers will have the opportunity to select their takeout from over 150 of Boston and Greater Boston's restaurants, the company said in a statement.

UberEATS is a standalone app, meaning that users have to download it separately from the Uber app. However, they can login into UberEATS with their Uber account. The app is free to download from the Apple Store and Google Play.

To access the service, users can also use the UberEATS website and place their order after typing the Boston zip code on the search bar.

At the time of launch on Thursday, UberEATS will be available in Boston, Cambridge, Malden, Everett, Chelsea, Medford and extending into Brookline, Arlington and Belmont.

UberEATS is already available in major cities in the U.S. and across the world, including Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.
