Babson College, named the top school for entrepreneurship by U.S. News & World Report last year, announced today it will offer all students an accelerated path to obtaining their undergraduate business degree.
Thanks to the new curriculum, the private institution located in Wellesley, Massachusetts hopes to provide students "with a unique opportunity to enter the workforce early, return to a family business, or launch a startup sooner," the school wrote in a statement.
Specifically, Babson students without pre-college credits can finish their degree one semester early, reducing tuition up to 12.5 percent, and students with 16 or more advanced placement (AP) or international baccalaureate (IB) credits can decide to graduate in as little as three years, reducing their overall college tuition up to 25 percent, according to the school.
Undergraduate tuition at Babson College for the academic year 2017-2018 is $49,664. Students do not need to decide before enrollment whether or not they will pursue an accelerated degree.
“I look forward to graduating early so that I can concentrate full-time on my professional interests, including my startup, ZAVR MEN, a modern gentleman’s fashion accessories brand,” said Babson College undergraduate student, Hari Maheshwaran, in a press release.
In November 2016, Babson announced the launch of a new series of edX courses called "Business Principles and Entrepreneurial Thought."
Recently, at least two Babson MBA alumni started their own business: Sarah Merion, who launched a network of licensed holistic health care providers called EthosWell, and David Broomhead, who founded "The LinkedIn for blue collar workers" Trade Hounds.
