Amazon's one-hour and two-hour delivery services are now available to Prime members in Boston.

The Seattle tech giant announced the availability of its Prime Now service in Boston on Wednesday. The company's same-day delivery service, which promises to deliver items by 9 p.m. if ordered by noon, has already been available in greater Boston.

Amazon's two-hour delivery is free of charge to Prime members while one-hour delivery costs $7.99. Both services are available seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to midnight.

The company's announcement only states that Prime Now is available in the "entire city of Boston" and doesn't mention whether it's available in surrounding cities. However, Prime Now appears to be available in cities near Boston. In Malden, where I live, one- and two-hour delivery options were available Wednesday morning.

An Amazon spokesperson told me customers can check to see if Prime Now is available in their area by entering their zip code into the website or app, but did not say which other cities are currently covered.

The company says tens of thousands of "daily essentials" are available through Prime Now, which is available through its own mobile app and can now be used through the Amazon Alexa personal voice assistant.
