Virtudent, a Boston telemedicine startup providing mobile dental care visits, announced on Wednesday that it has hired a longtime athenahealth employee as its senior vice president of operations.
For his new role, John Voith's responsibilities include managing and scaling operations in Boston and expanding the company's coverage to New Hampshire through a new partnership with Northeast Delta Dental, which will allow the company to serve 600 children at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central New Hampshire and Manchester.
Virtudent's hiring of Voith and its expansion into New Hampshire comes five months after the company announced that it had raised a $2 million seed round. Using telemedicine technologies, Virtudent provides concierge-style preventive dental services to employers and communities, with the goal of making dental care more accessible.

Voith was most recently director of interoperability at athenahealth, where he helped grow new businesses, products and operations that contributed to more than $250 million in revenue over his seven-year tenure there. He was also involved in major, industry-wide collaboration efforts focusing on electronic connectivity, including CommonWell Health Alliance.

The company is currently looking for new office space in Boston.
