Uber/Lyft Logan Airport Pickups Could Start Next Month

Update: Lyft has struck a deal with Massport to begin pickups at Logan Airport beginning Feb. 1. The same with Uber is reportedly pending, but close.

Earlier: In the bitter turf battle between cabs and transport network companies – most notably Uber and Lyft – one of the few remaining bastions that goes to the black and yellow is pickups at Logan Airport.

But, according to an attorney for Massport, that could be changing as soon as next month.

“The TNCs may begin doing pickups as soon as February 1,” Lisa Goodheart reportedly in federal court Thursday, adding, “The agreement may be announced even today."

Uber, Lyft and Massport have been engaged in these negotiations for months, reports the Boston Herald, which reported Goodheart's comments.

As it stands, customers of Uber and Lyft can use the services to go to the airport but not get picked up from it. That's the territory exclusively of public transportation, taxis or a roommate who owes you a favor.
