Hasty Pudding has already revealed its pick for the Man of the Year for 2017 (Ryan--swoon--Reynolds). Now, the Harvard theatrical group has made its Woman of the Year known: Octavia Spencer.

Spencer is best known for her Oscar-winning performance as Minny Jackson in The Help. Most recently, you can find her playing NASA mathematician Dorothy Vaughan in Hidden Figures, for which she has already been nominated for a SAG, Golden Globe and NAACP Image Award.

As part of tradition, Spencer will be strolling through the streets of Cambridge on Jan. 26. A roast will follow at the Hasty Pudding home in Harvard Square, at which point Spencer will be awarded the coveted Pudding Pot.

"We could not be more excited to offer Ms. Spencer our Woman of the Year award. We are humbled by her talent and are so honored that our little Pudding pot will be sitting alongside Ms Spencer's Oscar and Golden Globe on her mantle,” Adam Chiavacci, Hasty Pudding Theatricals’ Co-producer, said in a statement.

Spencer is in good company. Previous Woman of the Year honorees include Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and Dame Helen Mirren.
