A former executive at Roblox, Lyft and Electronic Arts has joined Birmingham-based Landing's C-suite.
Russ Brodmerkle — a 16-year marketing veteran — joined the company as chief marketing officer. Brodmerkle’s hiring coincides with new product launches for the company, including Standby and Flex.
He will oversee the marketing, growth and brand functions for Landing, the company behind the membership for flexible apartment living, in driving growth for technology companies. Brodmerkle also will oversee the grand opening of Landing’s new satellite New York City office. He’ll be focused on elevating the brand's identity.
Landing was approved for incentives by the Birmingham City Council and the Jefferson County Commissioners in July 2021 for moving its headquarters from San Francisco to Birmingham and bringing an estimated 816 full-time jobs.
The city agreed to provide incentives to Landing up to $1.63 million, payable in the amount of $2,000 per new full-time employee over a period of up to five years.
Jefferson County approved tiered support to Landing in the form of $2,000 per employee who earns $50,000. For each employee who earns $75,000 to $100,000, the county agreed to provide $3,000 per employee, and for every employee earning over $100,000, the county agreed to provide $4,000. The incentives go into effect after an employee has been at Landing for over a year.
An August 2022 Forbes article also reported Landing raised $237 million in venture capital funding, including $75 million at a recent valuation of $475 million.
