Who's setting Maryland's innovation scene ablaze?
Maryland Inno, the Baltimore Business Journal's tech-focused publication, wants to know and we need your help finding the companies, nonprofits and other organizations growing fast and leading the way in their industries and communities.
Nominations for The Fire Awards — Maryland Inno's premier recognition program — are open until Sunday, Feb. 20. Submit your nomination here.
Newer startups and later-stage companies, as well as accelerators, venture firms, nonprofits and more, are eligible to apply as long as they are based in Maryland.
In making your nomination, let us know why the company or organization you're putting forward is an outstanding innovator.
We're interested in companies that are gaining new funding, adding headcount, making a social and community impact and launching products. Tell us about company pivots or stories of amazing innovators reshaping their ecosystems.
After reviewing the nominations, the Maryland Inno team will select our Fire honorees, grouped into categories. Later, a panel of judges (local influencers and community leaders), will select one honoree per category who they feel has made the biggest impact and contribution to the ecosystem to be crowned the "Blazer Winner."
This is the Fire Awards first year in Maryland and joins two other Maryland Inno award programs — Inno Madness and Inno Under 25.
Nominations for Inno Madness have closed but more information on the bracket-style competition of startups is coming soon.
You have until August 7 to submit nominations for Inno Under 25, which seeks to recognize Maryland founders, entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders 25 years old or younger.
