Maryland Inno is looking for nominations for its inaugural startup bracket challenge.

Inno Madness is designed to generate awareness and excitement for Maryland's tech ecosystem — and those that are driving it forward. This year, we're extending the competition beyond tech to recognize all types of innovators.

So, how does Inno Madness work? It's easy. Nominate a local startup.

We've extended the nomination deadline so you now have until February 11. Nominate here.

We’re looking for startups and tech-enabled businesses or companies that support innovation. The Inno team will then assemble brackets based on your nominations.

We’ll reveal the bracket in March, and companies will go head-to-head throughout the rounds with you, our readers, voting to determine who moves on from every matchup. Every week, we’ll post the updated bracket and voting will begin again. We’ll announce our annual Inno Madness winner at the end.

Here's what to consider when making your nomination:

  • Has the company raised any funding?
  • In one sentence, why would you invest in this company (i.e., an interesting concept or product, social impact, long-term potential, etc.)?
  • What else do you want to share about the company you are nominating?
