Atlanta beverage startup Lemon Perfect is expanding its retail reach, striking a deal with Target to be sold in 500 stores.
Lemon Perfect will be available at Target stores in California, Georgia, New York, Oregon, Texas and Washington, according to an announcement. The goal is expand nationwide "in the near future," according to the company.
The company now projects $60 million in retail sales in 2023. It produces a flavored lemon water with organic juice and no sugar or artificial flavors. The drink is also sold in stores such as Publix, Kroger, Costco and CVS.
Yanni Hufnagel, a former college basketball coach, founded Lemon Perfect. The company moved its headquarters to Atlanta in 2021, taking space in West Midtown’s Stockyards development.
Lemon Perfect counts celebrities including Beyoncé as investors. It recently raised $36 million, as Atlanta Inno reported in February.
“In 2018, we did just over $20,000 in retail sales,” Hufnagel said in a recent interview with Forbes. “In 2023, we plan to achieve 3,000 times that. That’s very exciting growth over a five-year period. The brand is truly on fire.”
