Daily fantasy sports startup PrizePicks now has a sponsorship deal with Atlanta United, CEO Adam Wexler told Atlanta Inno.

The company signed an agreement to become the Major League Soccer team’s first fantasy sports partner. It also marks the first soccer partnership for the startup. The PrizePicks brand will be featured throughout Mercedes-Benz Stadium during Atlanta United’s home games. That could mean its name is featured in crowds of over 45,000, according to the company.

Wexler said the deal is more than six figures. The deal is likely to be between $250,000 and $500,000, an expert with industry knowledge told Atlanta Inno.

The news comes as the company is set to announce more deals with sports teams and leagues in the coming weeks, Wexler said. Previous professional sports team deals for PrizePicks include ones with the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons.

As part of the Atlanta United deal, certain PrizePicks customers will be able to attend Atlanta United games in suite seats, Wexler said. Customers will be chosen based on how long they’ve used the platform, how actively they use it and how much money they’ve put into it.

The deal comes after Wexler says PrizePicks saw a growth in fantasy soccer activity during and after the 2022 FIFA World Cup games. The startup has added predictions users can make in fantasy soccer in recent years such as goalie saves or shots on goal. Last year, the global fantasy soccer market was valued at $1.4 billion, according to market data firm ReportLinker.

Still, Wexler says PrizePicks spends more money on influencer partnerships, when a recognizable individual advertises the company brand, and social media advertising.

PrizePicks is a daily fantasy sports operator that lets fans project statistical player performances. It has a workforce of more than 200.

In November, PrizePicks ranked No. 48 in the Deloitte North America 2022 Technology Fast 500 Rankings for 3,416% three-year period. Months earlier, the company was No. 66 in the 2022 Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America list.
