Two technology companies with locations in Wichita have joined forces to offer a new level of personal security for public officials and corporate executives.

Virginia-based Knowmadics, which opened locally inside Groover Labs last year, is teaming with Wichita-based cybersecurity company Novacoast on the project.

Novacoast, which is headquartered in the Epic Center downtown, will provide continuous monitoring for customers using Knowmadics' 360° Aware tracking platform.

Available for Apple and Android, the platform allows government or corporate users to discreetly alert authorities in the event of a threatening situation.

The partnership will include participation by the federal division of Novacoast.

"Novacoast’s best-in-class incident monitoring and data center governance capabilities will be very valuable in delivering a complete solution that addresses the growing market demand for personal protective services we have seen over the last four years,” Claire Ostrum, Knowmadics president and co-founder, said in a news release. “It’s clear that our recent affiliation with the Wichita innovation community is already paying great dividends through enabling relationships like this.”

The companies credited work by the Greater Wichita Partnership in helping connect them on the project.

And for Novacoast, which has continued to boost its workforce since relocating to Wichita last year, the partnership with Knowmadics represents another offering added to its services portfolio.

"Knowmadics has an incredibly impressive approach and product line, like something out of a movie except it is real,” said Novacoast CEO Paul Anderson. “Their 360° Aware software as a service (SaaS) platform is well known within security circles, and will be a tremendous addition to Novacoast’s best-in-class, U.S.-based monitoring capabilities and technology solutions.”
