What do the nonprofit realm, financial technology, an eSports platform and technology catered to owner/operators in the landscaping industry all have in common?

Each is represented by a startup that has made it to the semifinals of the WBJ’s Wichita Inno Madness 2022 competition.

Voting is open for those four companies and will run through next Tuesday, as readers help decide who is Wichita’s favorite startup.

First up in the semifinals is Co-Immunity, which defeated mobile car detailing service 2U Auto in the previous round.

You can read more about Madeline Shonka’s nonprofit startup here, as Co-Immunity prepares to square off against Plain Solutions.

You can learn much more about that financial technology company here, which is coming off a pandemic pivot under the leadership of David Thorne and Paul Peloquin

Plain Solutions advanced to the semifinals by narrowly edging out Bitcoin infrastructure provider Voltage by just three votes.

The other semifinal matchup will feature Unified eSports Association, which, led by CEO Ramsey Jamoul, has current growth that will include an intercollegiate gaming championship at Century II later this month.

Unified defeated blue corn food and drink manufacturer Pinole Blue in the previous round. It will face Wichita startup stalwart Lawn Buddy in the semifinals.

Lawn Buddy, led by Steven Werner, is making good in 2022 on plans to broaden a customer base that already extends from coast to coast.

The company defeated online insurance business Fair Market Health in the previous round.

Voting in the semifinals can be done by clicking through the link below. One vote is allowed each round.

Inno Madness is our friendly, bracket-style challenge where readers vote to advance companies based on one question: Who would you invest in?

The competition was designed with input from readers and local entrepreneurial stakeholders has a fun contest that also highlights Wichita’s growing startup scene.

The complete contest rules are available online.

The goal of Inno Madness is to give a snapshot of some of the most-promising tech companies in Wichita, but is by no means a complete list of Wichita’s best startups.

Be sure and read our introduction to the competition for more on all 16 participants and stay with our Wichita Inno website to keep up with all things startup in the Air Capital.
