The Wichita Business Journal is launching a new important resource in our coverage of startup businesses and innovation.

I'm proud to present Wichita Inno.

The timing couldn't be better.

We have seen over the past 18 months how Wichitans, faced with the loss of jobs during the pandemic, have made the most of their difficult situations by creating their own businesses.

Week after week, we have been writing in the WBJ about those entrepreneurs who are bringing their ideas to fruition.

We will continue to write about those startups and their founders.

Wichita Inno will be their home.

Our coverage will focus on growth-stage companies and startups, entrepreneurs, venture trends and innovative initiatives across all industries. Inno covers the businesses and business leaders better shaping the future of our economy.

Inno is an established brand created in Boston back in 2009. It was acquired by the WBJ parent company, American City Business Journals, in 2012. Our network is now up and running at more than 40 Business Journal markets around the country.

Wichita Inno aims to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in south-central Kansas through a robust platform of insightful and original content.

While most of our content will be local, we'll also include news, context and Insights from the American Inno network.

The innovation economy is becoming an important part of diversifying the economy of Wichita and south-central Kansas.

That includes the companies and organizations in the Innovation Campus at Wichita State University, the growing demand for drones, continued company investments by Koch Disruptive Technologies, and a consortium of area technology leaders who have come together to promote business growth and innovation.

The time is right for Wichita Inno.

The Wichita Business Journal has had a great rebound year from the pandemic that impacted 2020. We're thrilled to launch this new Inno franchise for the Wichita innovation ecosystem and for our faithful readers of the WBJ across all our platforms.

Please let me know if you have any questions about Wichita Inno or any of our editorial content.
