The Henry's building at Broadway and William has stood empty for at least 20 years.
Sheree Utash, the president of WSU Tech, remembers the building in its glory days from when she was a little girl shopping with her dad.
Now she has a vision for bringing the building back to life as the home of the National Institute for Culinary and Hospitality Education.
And she talks about that vision in Episode 220 of the podcast.
The facility will educate students but will also serve as a downtown destination with a food hall and an events space on the roof of the building.
Work is starting on the building and classes in the program will be held elsewhere until they are able to take possession and start classes there in 2023.
My thanks again to Utash for joining me on the podcast and providing more details on the NICHE program.
You can find the other 219 episodes at the BizTalk with Bill Roy Podcast Hub. Our library continues to fill with Wichita newsmakers and analysis of important local topics. I invite you to check out those other episodes.
