Friday, February 24

Event: SXSW WeDC Roll Call

"Join us to support Washington, DC's effort to expand the technology sector, promote its innovative startup companies, highlight its creative talent, and foster new partnerships at SXSW 2017." 

Event: February FinTech Fiesta Friday at Five (pm)

"Join the MPOWER Financing and Village Capital teams for our monthly FinTech happy hour. The idea is to connect leaders of FinTech startups with the broader ecosystem in the DC-area." 

The Weekend, February 25-26

Event: IoT Workshop and Hack Day

"In this workshop we'll be lending you Raspberry Pi 3's and GrovePi kits in order to build IoT devices! This workshop will give you the option to follow along with our step-by-step tutorial to get you up and running, or if you're already experienced, you're welcome to bring your own devices and use our Pi's and GrovePi Kits." 

Event: DC Distillers Festival

Monday, February 27

Event: Venture DC Black Pitch Competition

"During Black History Month, the Mayor’s Office of African American Affairs, Department of Employment Services, Deputy Mayor of Greater Economic Opportunity, and Venture DC will host Venture DC Black Pitch Competition, a pitch competition to support, promote and reward emerging African American entrepreneurs with solid businesses or ideas. The competition is open to tech and tech enabled businesses.

The competition will be hosted by Brandon Andrews at Impact Hub DC on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 5 to 8 pm. Our goal is to select at least 10 businesses to present across three business segments: idea, early and growth stage businesses."

Event: Financials for Startups Workshop

Tuesday, February 28

Event: Fosterly's Women Focused Entrepreneur Study Hall

"Come to Study Hall to develop and improve your ideas with other future and existing entrepreneurs. Think: Ultra-collaborative co-working. Event: How to Pitch to an Investor Workshop

"Bob Smith, Director of the Mason Small Business Development Center at George Mason University and current GW Mentor-In-Residence presents methods for conveying facts about a startup venture efficiently. This workshop explores approaches for generating enthusiasm for your venture and addressing the fears and concerns that investors and funders have about any new venture."

Wednesday, March 1

Event: DC Inno's Tech Madness Bracket Reveal 2017

"This March, DC Inno is bringing the tech community together for some healthy competition… bracket-style. The goal of Tech Madness is to generate awareness and excitement for the city's top tech players, from the "favorites" (late-stage tech pillars) to the "diaper dandies" (seed round startups)." 

Event: GW Startup Career Fair

"The GW Startup Career Expo is a partnership of the George Washington University and other local universities. Some of the hottest startus and along with hundreds of the most entrepreneurial students from the greater DC area gather to network for internships and job opportunities. The event is free, but all startup employers and students must register to participate."
