It may seem like millennials are the ones getting all the attention from startup companies and coworking spaces, but Industrious has its eyes on an older generation. The coworking space company is opening a new location in Ballston.

So far, Industrious has one D.C.-area location, with plans to open offices in Bethesda and Tysons Corner. The Bethesda and Tysons Corner locations are set to open in the fall and winter 2018, respectively.

“What’s so exciting about this location is that there is so much activity and energy through the retail, the redevelopment and the connectivity of the metro,” said Industrious' director of real estate Kat Lau.

Although D.C. is becoming more and more saturated with coworking spaces, Lau said that by targeting a different audience, Industrious is able to plug a hole for established entrepreneurs.

“For us, the competition was definitely a factor when we made the decision to commit to Ballston,” Lau said. “Our average client is 38, so when we look at that compared to our competitors who largely focus on millennials and tech, we’re definitely serving a different audience.”

With more than 24,000 square feet of space, Industrious offers cozy offices, networking events and parties throughout the year.

The new Industrious office will feature amenities like private nursing rooms, spacious conference rooms and luxurious common areas. It will also offer snacks from local businesses, wellness rooms and unlimited printing.

“As we grow, we’re looking for places like the D.C. metro area because they attract such a diverse talent pool – from entrepreneurs who may just be starting out as well as mature companies and corporations looking to build out regional offices,” Lau said in a press release.

Industrious’ Ballston location is set to open in early 2019.
