The Wing, an all-women coworking space based in New York City, is expanding into D.C.

While the timeline for the D.C. space remains unclear, the chain closed a $8 million Series A round earlier this week and announced its plans to expand into Brooklyn, Soho and Washington, D.C., Forbes reports. The Soho space will open in the fall and the Brooklyn and D.C. spaces will follow after.

The Wing opened its first space in October in Manhattan. Subscriptions run at $185 per month, or $1,950 a year, plus a one-time $100 registration fee. But The Wing isn't just your typical subscription co-working space. Sure, it's dedicated to all women, which already makes it pretty unique. But the chain also boasts on-demand blowouts, a lactation room and vanities filled with beauty products from Glossier, Diptyque and Ouai Haircare. Members include rapper Remy Ma, HBO's "Girls" creator Lena Dunham, and J.Crew President Jenna Lyons. (Yet, I wouldn't expect to be a member right away. By November, the NYC location had a 1,300-person strong waitlist. Now, the waitlist is at about 3,000 people, according to Forbes.)

With the expansion of its new locations, the Wing plans to release tiered pricing options, Forbes also reports. Its Series A round was led by NEA, and existing investors BBG Ventures and the SoulCycle cofounders also participated. To date, The Wing has raised $10 million.

The Wing joins what is becoming a crowded D.C. co-working ecosystem. WeWork is opening a new space at the Apollo later this year, bringing its total D.C. locations to nine by the end of the year. Cove has five D.C. locations. And The Wing joins fellow lady-focused co-working space Hera Hub in D.C.
