It's that time of year again where the weather gets cold, but our annual startup competition starts to heat up.
What does this mean? It means that Tech Madness is back, baby.
Here at DC Inno we get the opportunity to learn and write about the stars, both young and old, of the D.C. innovation ecosystem. From established public companies like 2U, to scrappy newcomers like last year's champion, Spotluck, we're always looking to see who will be the next great success story from D.C.'s innovation scene.
And Tech Madness gives you, the readers, a chance to weigh in on who you think we should be watching.
Starting with 64 local tech companies, we’ll take your votes on which ones you think are the best contenders to be the most valuable DC tech company in five years' time.
Before we get to the voting, we need you to help us pick the DC-area tech companies, from startups to anchors, that we should include among the starting 64. Click here and fill out the form, to nominate the company you think most deserves a slot in the bracket.
Nominations for Tech Madness companies will run until Jan. 31. We'll select the 64 and seed them based on factors including how much capital they've raised.
The finalists will be announced on Feb. 1, and we'll be holding a kickoff event to reveal the bracket on March 1 at RFD in Chinatown. You're going to want to be there to see who makes the bracket.
