Bethesda-based consumer app Spotluck has had a pretty exciting year, launching two new markets in Philadelphia and Baltimore. And they were DC Inno's 2016 Tech Madness Champion.
The company, founded by Georgetown alumnus Cherian Thomas in 2014, lets users find a new place to eat in their neighborhood. Open the app and take a spin. Wherever the app lands, you get a discount to eat there that day. And the app limits you to one "spin" per day.
The Spotluck office space matches the company's aesthetic. Each day, the team plays ping-pong together (When I visited, there were numerous people saying "Wait until later," and demanding rematches). To go to the bathroom, you have to first pull a piece from a giant Jenga tower—of note, though, it doesn't matter if you're successful. It's all in the fun of it.
Let's take a spin around the fun-filled new Bethesda office space now...
