Union Kitchen Co-Founder Jonas Singer Out as CEO

Union Kitchen co-founder Jonas Singer is no longer co-CEO of the food startup incubator according to a report in the Washingtonian. Co-founder Cullen Gilchrist is now the sole CEO.

Singer had been a part of the day-to-day operations of Union Kitchen since it first opened in 2012. What started as renting extra space in the kitchen he and Gilchrist were using to prep food for their Blind Dog Cafe, has grown immensely. Union Kitchen now fills two large industrial kitchens, a grocery market, with another on its way, and almost fifty employees.

While still an owner and board member for Union Kitchen, Singer told the Washingtonian that he didn't feel Union Kitchen needed him as much anymore. Though he hinted about some "friction," he didn't expand on the subject. For now, he's doing some consulting while figuring out his next project, which may or may not also involve food.

We've reached out Singer for comment. This post will be updated.
