Kit Check
  • Hospital medication tracking startup Kit Check hired one of the founders of Xbox and Xbox Live as its new chief product officer. Cameron Ferroni (right), who ran the Xbox team as general manger, will oversee Kit Check's product team, which includes work on the new Narc Check for tracking narcotics. Narc Check joins the original medication Kit Check and the Anesthesia Check especially for anesthesia.
BrainScope
  • Bethesda-based concussion detection tech startup BrainScope hired a new chief commercial officer. Andrew Holman is joining the company from medical technology company Greatbatch, where he was president of corporate development.  BrainScope’s technology, however, allows measurements that normally require large hospital machines to instead be taken out on the field. Using brainwave recordings and advanced programs, brain injuries can be identified quickly with hand-held tools and disposable headsets.
Upside
  • Sean Soper left his position as a programmer at The Washington Post for new travel startup Upside. At the Post he helped create many of the mobile apps for the publication. At Upside, he will be the lead iOS developer.
