Winter storm (and potential blizzard) Jonas is fast-approaching Washington, D.C. and it looks like people won't be moving around much this weekend as WMATA closes Metrorail and Metro bus. But being at home doesn't mean you'll be bored. There are plenty of apps to keep a snow day fun, perhaps most notably the alcohol delivery apps that have blossomed in the District.

And there's already signs that the blizzard will provide a bumper weekend for the apps. The March 5 snowstorm last year saw a 236 increase in orders to Klink compared to that day in previous months. For now, Klink said it plans to remain open during the weekend.

Just on Thursday, Drizly saw a 55 percent increase in sales over an average Thursday, with three times as many scheduled deliveries, those set more than an hour ahead of ordering. Stores will be closed on Saturday due to weather conditions.

Check out some of the recipes recommended by the apps, like the Snow Day Sling and the Kahlua Hot Chocolate.
