  • Anacostia High School in Southeast D.C. was evacuated late Thursday morning after a bomb threat. The story is still developing.
Local app maker Pinxter raises $1M
  • Alexandria-based mobile app platform Pinxter has raised a $1 million seed round to build apps for consumer fashion and food brands and even social media stars. The round was led by Cal Simmons, a major player in the local investment scene. It's big news for Pinxter, which began with a mobile social media app to share feedback on fashion, but is now aiming at becoming an engine for any brand looking to go mobile and social.
