Washington, D.C. is full of salons and places to go for pampering, but in this golden age of on-demand services you don't always have to go out to find it yourself. It makes sense after all, that if companies can find success with delivering goods or creating platforms to find what you need from other industries, personal care would be right there alongside. And services like the ones offered by these companies are always going to be in high-demand, especially in a city like D.C. So, if you're feeling in need of a good blowout or just a nice massage, we picked out some of the on-demand services you'll want to know about.

PrettyQuick - Mobile booking service PrettyQuick lets users make appointments from a curated list of salons, offering trusted places users might not know about. The booking is cashless, with payment going through the app and offers rewards for use. The Chicago-based company was bought by Groupon last month but still works as its own brand.

Bella - Based in New York and D.C., Bella has its own list of stylists to send right to where you live for consultation and services. Bella's services include hair, nails, make-up and special occasion consultation, all available for order on its app. It also offers hair and grooming services for men. It's not cheap, being aimed for high-end services, with costs ranging from basic men's grooming for $50 up to a full celebrity package for $500.

The Glam App - The Glam App is available in many cities as a network and agency for stylists and customers to find each other. One aspect that makes the platform stand out is that it divides up the stylists based on experience. Users can pick stylists still in grad school or recently graduated, those with a few years of experience or from long-time experts.

Soothe - In-home massages aren't a new idea, but Soothe's app definitely simplifies the process. Certified massage therapists vetted by Soothe will be sent to wherever you want on-demand, and you can even choose who you want to do the massage if they are available. The massages can be ordered for 60, 90 or 120 minutes with costs ranging for $99 to $169 depending on the time. Not too surprisingly, Soothe has spread to cities all over the country.

Blowdry Taxi - A homegrown service in D.C., Blowdry Taxi is a mobile app and web service for getting blowout service wherever you are in the greater D.C. area from an accredited stylist contracted by the company. Blowdry Taxi has about a dozen, mostly full-time stylists on-call for appointments booked weeks in advance or within less than an hour of ordering the hair and beauty service. It's a relatively low-price option with a blowout costs between $50 and $60, with other services costing more.

Veluxe - Another service born locally, Veluxe offers on-demand services in a variety of services. Along with hair and make-up, it will also provide massage, yoga and personal fitness training to users. The specialists go directly to the homes, offices or even hotels of the users. The prices vary depending on the service and the provider. Along with its current line-up of options, Veluxe is planning to add manicures, pedicures and other services in the coming months.
