WeWork fires cleaners over union fight

The Service Employees International Union has filed a complaint with government against WeWork after 90 percent of the cleaners for WeWork in New York were let go recently. The complaint, filed with the National Labor Relations Board, claims WeWork was discriminating against the employees over their push for unionizing the cleaners. Workers held a candlelight vigil outside of WeWork, which is currently valued at about $10 billion. Read more from The Guardian here.

A DC startup that can track drones sneaking into prison

Herndon-based DroneShield is looking downright prescient in developing its drone detection and tracking technology after two men were arrested in Maryland over the weekend for planning to use a drone to send drugs into a state prison. It's sensors are already being used in some prisons overseas, but it looks like its services could be useful closer to home too.
