UVa grads are suing Rolling Stone

Three former University of Virginia fraternity members are suing Rolling Stone in connection with a now-retracted 2014 article describing an alleged gang rape incident in their fraternity house, the AP reported. The men say in the suit that the article "created a simple and direct way to match the alleged attackers"  to them, according to the AP. Read the AP story here. — Kyle Alspach

Amazon wants airspace just for drones

Amazon proposed setting aside the space between 200 and 400 feet above ground just for drones. It's the latest part of the company's long-term efforts to push the government into settling the rules that will let Amazon ship packages by drone. In the proposal, the space below 200 feet would be used by non-delivery drones, keeping the sky free of accidental collisions. How successful this idea will be with Congress and the FAA remains to be seen though. Read more from the Hill here.

A DC startup is changing how Uber drivers find riders

Herbert Pinder Jr. is changing how Uber drivers find rides thanks to his creation WhereMySurgeApp. The app displays a map indicating where Uber surge pricing is going on and when the last surge there occurred. The White House is opening up its petition page

The White House petition platform is opening up to more people with the addition of letting people sign on to a petition even if they don't go to the White House website. There's now a tool to let people embed their White House petition in their own websites, making it a lot easier for people or groups that want to raise support for getting the administration to respond to their request.
