Washington, D.C.-based startup Tahzoo has more than doubled in size thanks to the acquisition of Netherlands-based digital agency HintTech. The acquisition makes Tahzoo, a customer experience agency headquartered near the convention center, the largest independent agency of its kind in the world.

"Customer experience is more important than ever," said Tahzoo CEO Brad Heidemann. "Taking on HintTech's team gives us new platforms and tools for our clients and new opportunities for clients around the world."

Tahzoo was already growing quickly, even before the acquisition. INC. magazine rated it 85th on its list of fastest-growing private companies and its been doubling its year-over-year growth as well.

HintTech founder Egbert Hendriks will stay on as chief strategy officer at Tahzoo.

"Our joining Tahzoo further cements our ability to deliver what the business, marketing and technology communities are demanding," Hendriks said in a statement.

What Tahzoo and HintTech do is fairly specialized, at least on the level they provide it, Heidemann said. Digital experience delivery is a really broad and sometimes hard to define field, but it makes up an ever-growing share of how companies present themselves to clients and consumers. It's often only when there's a problem with it that the average person would notice, but creating effortless-seeming digital customer engagement takes a lot more than might be apparent on the receiving end. It's why Tahzoo gets and retains clients like Blackboard, Verizon, HP and Nationwide.

"Tahzoo is about digital transformation," Heidemann said. "As more companies understand how important the contextual experience we provide is, the more in-demand our services will be. Buying HintTech means we can do more for more companies than was possible before."
