Here's A Free DC Tech Event Series Happening All Summer

Every Friday in May and continuing throughout the summer, The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District will be hosting open to the public business and technology innovation events. The specific event series, called Tech Trends, provides tech demos, learning labs and meet-ups. Tech Trends will be organized in partnership with several local technology companies, including: UberOffices, Cove, Yapper, General Assembly, WeWork and 1776, among others. Tech Trends is part of the larger D.C. Farragut Fridays program of events.

Farragut Fridays (FF) sets up in Farragut Square, at 17th and K Street NW, and will run every Friday until September 25. It is an outdoor venue between the Farragut North (Red Line) and Farragut West (Blue/Orange lines). FF is an opportunity for local Washingtonians to enjoy a technology enabled outdoor space, turning it into an outdoor office and meeting spot with free Wi-Fi, tables, chairs and games. Tech Trends is a select series that is part of this larger program and its schedule/locations vary slightly.

“Tech innovation requires a special equation of inspiration, a quality workforce and an exciting environment. Our start-up has found all of these elements in the Golden Triangle and the Tech Trends series exemplifies the BID’s commitment to building on the existing tech scene that is so important to the region’s economic health,” SocialRadar CEO Michael Chasen said in a statement.

Here’s an updated list of the Tech Trend event schedule (provided by DC BID):
