WeddingWire CEO Tim Chi has brought on fellow Blackboard alumnus Mike Beach as the company's new CFO. Beach will be handling the finances for the company, a much bigger proposition since the recent acquisition of Wedding Planner S.L.
"Mike’s demonstrated track record as a successful private and public company CFO make him a great fit for our business," Chi said. "Having worked previously with Mike at Blackboard, we look forward to tapping into his wealth of experience and his deep understanding of scaling fast growing businesses."
Beach worked at Blackboard in the run-up to its IPO in 2004, sparking rumors that WeddingWire may be heading in that direction. However Chi told DC Inno in a recent interview that there are no plans to take the company public as of yet, mainly because they don't need the cash. But as Chi said, he does have the experience to help scale a business that's now gone heavily international. After Blackboard, Beach worked at Digital Signal Corporation and is an advisor at City Light Capital.
